The Thirty Million Word Gap was a study done by Betty Hart and Todd Risley in 1995 that found that children raised in wealth are exposed to 30,000,000 more words by the age of 4 than children raised in poverty.  The Thirty Million Word Initiative is a curriculum that focus on parent’s interactions with their children.  The goal is for parents to build their own vocabulary and then speak the words when in conversations with their children.  A must for any parent tmw.org/tmw-initiative/tmw-thirty million words.
